Air4media Joins the C2PA
Air4media is now a member of the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA) — the standards body behind Content Credentials — and we're working toward C2PA certification across the platform.
What is the C2PA?
The C2PA develops the open technical standard for content provenance: a tamper-evident, cryptographically signed record of where a photo or video came from and everything that happened to it along the way. Its members include Adobe, the BBC, Google, Microsoft and Sony, and its consumer-facing form is Content Credentials — the nutrition label for digital media.
Why this matters to us
Provenance has always been Air4media's DNA. Every file produced on Pilot ships with full IPTC and EXIF metadata baked in at the moment it's created — photographer, copyright, caption, usage. C2PA Content Credentials are the cryptographic next step: provenance that survives publication and can be verified by anyone. For the photographers, agencies and brands we serve, in a feed full of AI-generated imagery, proving where a picture came from is becoming as important as the picture itself.
What we're doing
- Membership. As a C2PA member, Air4media is at the table as the standard evolves.
- Certification. We're working toward certification under the C2PA conformance program, so the Content Credentials our platform produces are recognized industry-wide.
- Shipping it. Content Credentials support is rolling into Pilot — signed provenance on exports, alongside the IPTC and EXIF we already embed in every file.
